The Iraqi Resistance attacks the US base in Syria

Iraqi Resistance forces have carried out drone strikes on a US military facility near the northeastern Syrian city of Qamishli, along the Turkish border.

The attacks, directed at the Hemo base, situated west of Qamishli Airport, occurred early on Thursday, according to Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen news channel.

The report indicated that the Hemo base, which accommodates around 350 American soldiers, is considered vital for US occupation forces in Syria.

News of the attacks follows recent reports suggesting troop evacuations from the base due to Resistance faction attacks. An Iraqi media source reported that Thursday’s operation marks the second attack on the Hemo base since October 7, when the Israeli regime launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

Resistance groups based in Iraq have repeatedly hit US bases on Iraqi and Syrian territories with missiles and drones over the past weeks in retaliation for the Israeli regime’s crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.

The groups are also outraged at the US military presence in the region, which they see as a source of instability, as well as Washington’s support for the Israeli regime in its ongoing war on Gaza.
