United Nations: Israel Blocks Critical Aid to Northern Gaza As Bombings Continue to Kill
– The UN's humanitarian agency (OCHA) reported that Israeli authorities have continued to prevent the delivery of essential medicines and fuel to operate water and sanitation facilities in northern Gaza.
The agency warned that the lack of these supplies poses serious health risks for the besieged population.
According to OCHA, only one of 19 scheduled missions to transport fuel and materials for water infrastructure has been granted access to the area north of Wadi Gaza since the start of January. The other 18 missions, which included five trips to the Central Drug Store, four trips to the Jabalia Health Centre, and eight trips to four crucial reservoirs and pumps, were all denied entry, Al Jazeera reported.
The agency also said that the six hospitals that were partially functioning in northern Gaza have been severely affected by the shortage of medicine, as well as the ongoing Israeli attacks that have killed at least 132 people in the past 24 hours, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.
The death toll from the Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7 has reached at least 24,100, with more than 60,800 wounded.

Several UN agencies have urged the occupation regime to allow “faster, safer” access for humanitarian aid to Gaza, as the territory faces a looming famine and a potential outbreak of diseases.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also posted a message on X, calling for the protection of humanitarian workers who are trying to deliver aid in the midst of the heavy, widespread and relentless bombardment.
Guterres said that 152 UN staff members have been killed in Gaza since October 7, which he described as “the largest single loss of life in the history of our organisation, a heart-wrenching figure and a source of deep sorrow”.
